Whatever beauty I found in these pieces was beaten into submission by the sledgehammer (acts quote marks) messaging that seemed to accompany it everywhere I looked. Are we so stupid these days as to not react to things unless they are signalled to us with an artistic foghorn? Do artists not understand that in doing this they are undermining the very message they are trying to convey? Yes we get it. People are broken. Creativity can heal them.
